Putin says Russia’s ultimate goal to ensure people’s welfare
MOSCOW, Mar 19 (PRIME) -- The government’s ultimate goal is to ensure the well-being of Russian citizens and reduce the number of people living below the poverty line, President Vladimir Putin said on Monday at a meeting with other presidential candidates.
“The main focus in the future work of the executive power will be made on solving the country’s internal problems, first of all ensuring the pace of economic growth, giving our economy an innovative character and solving certain issues connected with healthcare, education, science, infrastructure and ensuring on this basis growth of welfare of our people – this is the ultimate goal of any government, and in Russia, there is nothing different here,” Putin said.
The government will continue work on ensuring the country’s defensive power and solving safety issues, but domestic issues and ensuring economic growth are the main goals, Putin said at a meeting with co-chairmen of his campaign office.
